These works are from a road trip in the USA. Trying to connect to the soul of a place which should feel familiar to where I am from, the UK,  yet so alien, at a time in US history that will forever affect both itself and the world at large, just before the 2024 election. I sat about documenting what I thought felt like a country still in its adolescence, still finding its footing, yet alive and kicking. Full of energy and beautiful, unspoilt wilderness. With both the richest and poorest people living in a land which looked after its inhabitants for thousands of years as they lived with and off the land, funnily, it felt like history repeating itself as the people knew how to live off their land. These works are from a road trip across the USA. I aimed to connect with the soul of a place that should feel familiar to me, given my background in the UK, yet it felt so alien. This journey took place during a pivotal moment in US history, just before the 2024 election, which will forever impact both the country and the world at large. As I documented my experiences, it struck me that America still seems to be in its adolescence, searching for its footing while remaining vibrant and alive. The landscape is filled with energetic, beautiful, and unspoiled wilderness.

In this country, I observed the stark contrast between its wealthiest and poorest citizens. It felt as though history was repeating itself, as people lived off the land, having done so for thousands of years. Nomadic communities followed the seasons, maintaining a connection with their environment. Ultimately, my experience was life-changing as I encountered both the best and worst of humanity. pumping oil, water and food and a huge population of nomadic people following the seasons.
